What's New | October 2021

Basically, I came across a lot of things that were new, or at least new ✨ to me ✨ and i thought… the people deserve to know!! So, here is a list of things that are new in south Florida. Or, at least, pretty new 😉

Self Care

BrowNaturel

My lovely local source of good things, Diana, or as many of you might know her as, Lauderbabe, told me about the eyebrow goddess that is Amanda, or as the internets know her as, BrowNaturel. She has an extensive background in beauty and makeup and turned to her passion, brows, and opened up her own studio space in March where the vibes are elite and you leave with a fresh feeling of empowerment because your brows have never looked better and the reality is they shape your face. I havn’’t had my eyebrows done in about 4 years (I thought I was doing the damn thing, I was not), and have been scared to go to anyone. Amanda did a “lami” on me which is a brow lamination that lets your eyebrow hairs basically chill and go in the direction you want them to. We also did a wax and defined my shape and hair pattern (here is my face). 10/10 would recommend.

The NOW Massage Boutique

The ways the stars aligned for me and coming to NOW was just heavenly. I am a BIG massage person. I love it, live for it, dream of it. I had been traveling a lot for work, been under a lot of stress, and then boop, an email in my inbox about a brand new massage boutique in Fort Lauderdale. Hear me when I saw that this spot is UNMATCHED. The space is gorgeous when you walk in and it’s instantly calming, but once you walk through the doors where the massages are done, it’s like you are transported to a private island with the massage beds that are right by the ocean, do you know what I’m talking about? If not, envision it. It’s not hot, but it’s not cold, the ocean is there, you hear it, there’s cabanas, and the softest massage bed with the softest blankets and a masseuse's hands who have been blessed by the gods. My masseuse did not only have #blessedhands but also was medically trained so he know pressure points and tension relief. I suffer from migraines (suffer is an understatement to what migraines do a person) so I got a head massage, it felt like therapy. NOW is in a newly renovated building near Flagler Village. You can find out more about it HERE.

Wood & Wick Co.

Right next door to NOW is a spot I have (truthfully) not been to yet but is high on my list after I saw a friend of mine visit. A candle-making experience. You get to make your OWN CANDLE! As a candle whore, this is right up my alley. I love candles, but I’m also ridiculously picky about sents because as mentioned earlier, prone to migraines. The idea of making my own candle is dreamy. You can pick from an assortment of fragrance oils and custom accessories and have 3 different vessels to choose from and end up with an authentic wick candle. The workshops are 45 minutes long and they are open Tuesdays through Sundays. See their Instagram HERE.

Food + Fun

Cuba Libre Fort Lauderdale Salsa Nights

Something I so desperately wanted and needed was a place to dance to my beloved salsa music in Fort Lauderdale. Cuba Libre recently launched their salsa nights on Friday and Saturday nights. From 9-11pm you get to not only enjoy a Cuban fusion dinner, but also a show. Salsa dancers make their way through the tables and put a show on, and invite you for a spin. Once 11 strikes the clock, dinner service is over y la juerga comienza!! Basically, it’s time to party and dance. This is such a great weekend idea to me, dinner, drinks, and dancing. Can’t go wrong.

Rose’s Daughter Late Night Menu

For the fans of Delray’s Rose’s Daughter, and for the Delray locals who can never find something to eat late at night (been there, hated that) Rose’s Daughter just launched a late-night menu with $9 pizzas, discounted bites, $8 house wine, $5 beer and an $8 cocktail of the day. It’s basically an extension of their happy hour menu, allowing you to get Rose’s Daughter’s well-known American-Italian plates at a fraction of the cost the last two hours they are open. On Fridays and Saturdays, they are open until 11. Their IG is HERE

Amar Bistro - Launches Uncorked Tuesdays and a new bakery (!!!!!!!)

For those of you who follow along on my stories, you know I’m OBSESSED with Amar. Amar is not only probably my favorite restaurant in Delray, but it’s in my top 5, period. Amar is a Lebanese / Medetterainean restaurant, the food is ALWAYS fresh and made perfectly. They’ve just launched Uncorked Tuesdays, a new special for Tuesdays where wine bottles are 50% off all night with the purchase of an entree. I’m in there like swimwear!
In other exciting news from the badass couple who runs Amar, they’ve just opened a bakery. I have had the baked items and desserts at Amar and they are incredible. The baklava is out of this world. All of the amazing baked goodness that we loved at Amar can now be found at the bakery with so much more greatness. Susanna, ½ of Amar and the genius behind the baked goods, is vegan, and the new bakery offers many items if you are in search of vegan baked goods as well! Follow the bakery HERE

YG Farmers Market - expands space, adds live music, and extends hours

Oh look, it’s me talking about the YG farmers market… again! My OG foodies have seen me ride out through every booth at the market and now, I still ride out but it takes me longer because it’s massive! I recently visited the market again and they’ve added new tiki huts and pavilions with TVs so you can enjoy all the market has to offer without being scorched by the sun or drowned by the rain. They also have two new bars coming soon, in addition to the ones they already have, added live music, and, my favorite part, they no longer close at 4!!! So, you can come by later in the day, can come by for dinner, or you have the option of just staying all day. It’s wonderful. I could do an entire blog post on all the great things the market has to offer, but I’ll save that for another post. For now, I’ll just say that there is so much to see. The owners have made sure that no two vendors sell the same thing. There might be more than one empanada stand, but rest assured they are going to be very very different empanadas. This is a cultural experience. Food, spices, drinks, and people from all over the world and all cultures gather here. You can have Peruvian ceviche for lunch, Ethiopian food for dinner, and French crepes for dessert. The market offers over 250 vendors. Love. It! Follow YG HERE
