Cinco de Mayo Specials + Events

As we close out April and welcome in the 5th month of year, I can’t help but think, “2019 is FLYING by”. Anyone else feel this way? Well, we cant breeze by May without making a pit stop at Cinco de Mayo. Before we dive in to specials, tequila and events though, let’s dive in a little bit as to why this day became important to begin with.

From the Britannica’s website:

“On May 5, 1862, a poorly equipped mestizo and Zapotec force under the command of General Ignacio Zaragoza defeated French troops at the Battle of Puebla, southeast of Mexico City; about 1,000 French troops were killed. Although the fighting continued and the French were not driven out for another five years, the victory at Puebla became a symbol of Mexican resistance to foreign domination. The city, which was later renamed Puebla de Zaragoza, is the site of a museum devoted to the battle, and the battlefield itself is maintained as a park.”

Now that you know a brief history behind Cinco de Mayo, a story you can tell everyone with each shot you take, here are specials + events you can find here in South Florida.
